The charity and social enterprise arm of New Vision Printing and Publishing Company Limited. An independent legal entity fully registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau as a Company Limited by Guarantee Without Share Capital.

Established on September 20, 2024 (Reg. No.80034722757956) after five years of consultations.

An empowered society where all individuals; men, women and children – realise their full potential in a clean and healthy environment.

Our Objectives

  • Mobilise resources to support quality journalism as a strategy to create a sustainable society
  • Build partnerships to maximise on expertise and optimise on use of resources
  • Support resource-constrained groups or individuals with high-impact innovations realise their dreams
  • Hold assets in trust for New Vision Printing and Publishing Company Limited or any other organisation on such terms and conditions as mutually agreed
  • Research and offer solutions to societal challenges
  • Receive any donations and grants from individuals, organisations or agencies to implement any projects in line with the objectives of the Foundation on behalf of the donor

Organization Structure

The Foundation is headed by a Board of Trustees comprised of three eminent personalities of impeccable integrity. The membership may be expanded to incorporate any donors and philanthropists who may wish to be represented on the board.


The board is the supreme organ responsible for the policy direction of the Foundation. It decides the management structure and appoints the senior management team for efficient operations of the Foundation. It also approves the Foundation budget, annual workplans and any other policies and legal instruments. The head of the management team shall be the board secretary.


The board vets all potential partners and approve all grants allotted to grant recipients. Membership on the board shall be voluntary and they shall not receive any emoluments save disbursements for costs incurred when on the Foundation duties.

Chair

Patricia is an accomplished academic, communication specialist and administrator. With a PhD in communications from the University of East London, UK, Patricia taught at Makerere University before joining the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development as the Assistant Commissioner responsible for communication and public relations. She also currently serves as a member on the New Vision Printing and Company Limited board.

Mr. Gervase Ndyanabo

Board Member

Gervase is a seasoned accountant, auditor and administrator with a Master of Business Administration degree from Edinburgh Business School, UK. He is currently the Deputy Managing Director/Company Secretary New Vision Printing and Publishing Company Limited.

Ms. Barbara Kaija

Ms. Barbara Kaija

Board Member

Barbara is an experienced media manager, mentor with a passion for development journalism. With a Masters degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University, South Africa, Barbara has solid track record of editorial innovations that have enhanced the Ugandan society and beyond. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief and Head of Content generation at Vision Group.
